We go to great lengths to ensure that ANICHINI’s down and down alternatives are the very best. First, we start at the source… We choose only the very best RDS Certified ethically-sourced European goose down.
RDS, the Responsible Down Standard, is a voluntary global standard developed over the last few years to safeguard the welfare of geese and ducks that provide down and feathers for the down industry. The standard recognizes and rewards the best practices in animal welfare and shows a communal effort between animal welfare groups, industry experts, brands, and retailers.
The certification process involves two steps:
- An on-site audit in which a visual inspection is completed with a check of procedures, documents, and interviews with staff and workers resulting in an audit report.
- Certification decision: the audit report is sent to a certifier who will review all the results and decide whether the company is issued certification.
We are proudly committed to only sourcing down products from sources who have earned this certification.

We put a great amount of effort into an ethical down program because we truly believe in the benefits of down:
First, warmth. Of all insulations, down gives the greatest warmth for the least amount of weight.
Second, durability. When cared for properly (washed regularly and stored open in a cool, dry place) down maintains its loft and insulation for a lifetime.
Third, sustainability. Down is the by-product of a renewable resource. It is biodegradable and recyclable. It will last for decades and it allows you to lower your thermostat… my personal favorite.
